Craig S. Mader
I've been privileged to represent Erie Insurance Group since 1984. The history of the Craig S. Mader Insurance Agency, Inc. began when I incorporated the business in January 1989. The growth of our agency can be attributed to the competitive product line offered by Erie Insurance in both personal lines and commercial lines of insurance. I am continually impressed by Erie's fairness regarding claims, billing issues, and their accessibility. The products we can offer our customers are priced to be the competition among insurance carriers in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. Our current marketing plan includes focusing on our local communities of Crofton, Bowie and Mitchellville, MD. In Maryland, our customer base includes people from Anne Arundel, Prince Georges, Charles, Calvert, Howard, Queen Anne's, Baltimore, Montgomery, Carroll, and Harford counties. We also represent Frederick Mutual Insurance Company; The Hartford, Progressive, Injured Workers Insurance Fund and Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund. Our agency is affiliated with IIA&B (Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers) and ABC (Associated Builders & Contractors) - Chesapeake Chapter. Personally, I have been in the insurance business since January, 1984. My prior career was with Wonder Bread/Hostess Cakes as a Personnel Manager and Labor Relations Manager. I am a 1977 graduate of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, having been recruited there as a baseball player. While in college, I met my wife, Michele, of Bowie, Maryland. When I decided to enter the insurance agency business, I was mentored by an Erie Sales Manager, Howard Miller, who did more for me than I ever realized. I also attribute our growth and retention of customers to a staff of high-caliber, honest and talented people. They are conscientious when it comes to satisfying the needs of our customers. They most certainly have helped grow the customer base from about 800 in 1989 to over 4,200 in 2007. I'm proud that six of our professionals have college degrees. Finally, we are privileged to represent our customers. We're confident that we have matched our customers' needs with the proper carrier and levels of coverage. We are committed to serving and responding to all of their questions and demands to the best of our ability. Charlie Peedin CIC, LUTCF
Charlie has been in the insurance business since 1982. After a four year tour in the U.S. Marines, he started his insurance career in Virginia as a Property & Casualty Agent. In 1984, he moved to Maryland and became a licensed agent for a large independent insurance agency which represented several major insurance carriers. He specialized in a Ryland Homes Program, providing the personal insurance needs for the hundreds of families who participated.  In 1987, he was proud to have the opportunity to become affiliated with an agency who represented the Erie Insurance Group. After a short period of time, he knew that the Erie Insurance Group was an organization that was committed to providing the best products and service for my clients.  In 1993, he joined the Craig Mader Insurance Agency. His position as Vice-President and head of the Personal Lines Department enables him to provide quality service and competitive products for all his clientele. Angie Heffner, CISR
Angie Heffner graduated from the University of Maryland, in 1986, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Majoring in Economics, she wanted to go into the field of Banking. Since then she has had the opportunity to work in many different "banking related" fields. Some of her hats have included Operations Analyst, Loan Processor, Loan Officer, and Account Executive within the credit reporting industry. She is now in the Insurance business. She obtained her insurance certification, and has been with the Craig S. Mader Insurance Agency since March 1997. Upon obtaining her license she primarily provided customer service for personal lines - which included: Auto, Home, Boat and PCL policies. In September 2006 she was promoted to Office Manager and started servicing Commercial Lines.  She handles the Flood policies for the Agency as well.  She is also a Notary Public. In October 2005, she received her designation as a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR). Charity Heater
Charity graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and joined the agency on a part-time basis in August 2000.  After obtaining her insurance license in 2001 she began working full-time in the personal lines department where she serviced existing clients and occasionally wrote new ones.  In 2004 she took over as the sole commercial accounts representative while also serving as the office manager. Currently she is back to working part-time in the commercial lines department, which allows her time to be a Mom the days she is not in the office. Charity is in the office on Tuesday's and Wednesday's and would be glad to assist you with any of your business insurance needs including certificates of insurance, policy changes, and new coverage quotes. In her "spare time" Charity serves as treasurer of a non-profit organization based in Crofton where she lives with her husband and son.
Mary Anne Reuschling, CIC, ARM, CPCU
Mary Anne joined our team in 2003 as a Commercial Lines Insurance Producer.  She has more than 20 years experience in the insurance industry and holds several professional designations including; Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC); Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU); and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).  Mary Anne also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland University College, and is a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda Honors Society. Mary Anne specializes in medium to large commercial risks and has been particularly successful assisting clients that are members of local associations such as Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC).  Mary Anne is a former Chairperson of the Chesapeake Chapter of ABC and is still active on their Legislative Committee.  Mary Anne also serves on the Workers Compensation Benefits and Insurance Oversight Committee at the state legislature. In her spare time, Mary Anne is very active with Anne Arundel County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) and serves as their current Board President.  She also volunteers with the Boys and Girls Club of Anne Arundel County. Mary Anne lives in Annapolis with her husband Glen, daughter, Abby (6), and stepsons Eric (19), Michael (17), and Alex (12).
Shannie Mader
Shannie Mader has been employed and licensed at the Craig Mader Insurance Agency since February 2001. She graduated from James Madison University, in December of 2000, with a Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunications never planning to work in the field of insurance. Her intention was to find a career in the television/music business industries. She is now currently a full time customer service representative in the personal lines division where she enjoys working in a service intensive environment and meeting clients' insurance needs.
Erica Reid
Erica began working as a CSR for a Washington, DC agency in 1999 at the  age of 19.  She continued to work there every summer throughout college.  After graduating from Spelman College in 2002, she was promoted to  Personal Lines Manager of that agency.  In 2004, Erica transitioned to a financial planning and investment firm but soon returned to insurance in 2005.  She accepted a position as Sales Manager of an agency in Bowie, MD. She served in that position for 3 ½ years.  She joined CSM Insurance Agency in Feb 2009.  Erica is licensed in MD, DC, and VA for auto, home, business, life, and health insurance.  Outside the office, Erica is the owner of About Face, LLC where she provides professional make-up artistry for weddings, fashion shows, photo shoots, and other events.  She has an 8-year-old son and is also an active member of Spirit of Faith Christian Center.
Sharon Drew
Sharon has been in the insurance industry selling insurance for 13 years. Her first 12 years was with State Farm Insurance before joining the Craig Mader Agency and writing for Erie. She has licenses in Property & Casualty, Life and Health.    She is a longstanding member of the Kiwanis Club of Crofton. She also sings and plays gospel music in a band called “Stained Glass”. Sharon has 4 sons, 5 grandchildren and a 10 year old yorkiepoo. Her and her husband reside in Crofton.
